About Us
Marathon Eryri Cyf (a non-profit making organisation) was set up last year to take over the bulk of organising the Snowdonia Marathon from the National Trust. From the outset, the new organisation was determined that the race would raise as much money for local causes as possible. The 2007 race saw £3,000 going to the local Primary school Ysgol Dolbadarn who is using the money to make much needed improvements to their playground area.
An additional £4,500 went to a new scheme being set up by the National Trust to allow young people the opportunity to experience the beauty of the mountains. This is being piloted in Snowdonia and the money has been used to pay for a yurt that will be built by youngsters on the scheme. Runners will be able to see the Yurt over the race weekend as it will be erected on the field.
Finally a further £3,500 has gone to help build an all weather pitch for local Llanberis children. This will be behind the Community Centre and should be there for you all to see on race day.
Without your help, we couldn't have helped these local causes. Thanks.
